Ahhh, Luis. I miss our mornings commiserating at La Paloma, but clearly you have found your calling in Hartford politics (next you may unseat Jon Stewart :) Loved your Courant op-ed, too. Yours is a refreshing and much-needed perspective --keep it up!

Ah, Luis-now I understand. In the absence of the regular morning caffeinated hang at La Paloma, one has to travel to the blogosphere to savor your wonderful sense and sensibility pertaining to that singular beast we know as Hartford politics. Write on, brother! How about some coverage of the recent developments/realignments in education-related funding (SCP/LEF)? This perfect storm is already profoundly impacting the summer landscape for children, youth and families (and those who serve them), and that is only the beginning of trends that may have fatal implications for some community based organizations' bottom lines. Factor in the Hartford Courant's seemingly 'hands-off' policy as regards investigative journalism and the school system, and some folks find themselves dancing in the dark. Who turned out the lights? Food for thought, bubbalah.

Wow. Thanks for the vivid description. I, like Richard, am very glad we have some rational, free-thinking council members.
